The one day symposium is the closing event of the 1st edition of CIELA’s Interdisciplinary Series, entitled Identities in Interaction: multidisciplinary perspectives. Besides the symposium, this edition includes 3 workshops on oral expression for undergraduates and postgraduates of the Department of Portuguese, delivered by theatre producer and drama techniques lecturer Dr. Carlos Antunes (Portugal), who will also give a guest lecture on an actor’s performing and individual identity, a post graduate lecture for MA / PHD students of Portuguese Literary and Translation Studies by (Prof. Zhang Weimin, Orient Museum, Portugal), a sharing session with Portuguese Studies BA students on the study abroad in Portugal experience – identity and acculturation issues, by Dr. Rika Hioki (Sophia University, Japan), among other events open to students of Portuguese Studies, and all, at large.
The overarching topic to this edition is the representation of identity in the multiple fields that interact in language, cultural and literary studies, specifically from the perspective of Lusophone identities in interaction with Chinese and other Asian cultural and linguistic identities.
